Sweta Rajan is a Partner at ELP and has been part of the firm’s Indirect Tax, Customs and Regulatory practice since 2010.
Sweta has gained extensive experience in matters relating to GST, customs and foreign trade policy, central and state excise, service tax, VAT, entry tax and entertainment tax. She has been engaged in providing advisory and litigation services to various clients in the indirect tax and trade law space and regularly represents clients before various judicial and quasi-judicial forums. She has also been actively engaged in undertaking review exercises relating to various indirect tax laws for multinational corporations.
Sweta has also been involved in making representations to various Government authorities, including the Ministry of Finance, DGFT, FSSAI, MOEF, BIS etc. in relation to various tax, trade policy and regulatory matters for companies and industry associations.
Sweta has worked successfully with clients across various sectors including consumer goods and FMCG, hospitality, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, electronics, banking and financial services and the entertainment sector.
In addition to indirect tax and customs, Sweta has been involved in establishing the Food Law practice at ELP and advises clients regularly on FSS law issues.
Sweta is an advocate with a BSL.LLB degree from ILS Law College, Pune.
