Jitendra Motwani is a Partner with ELP’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Mumbai.
Jitendra graduated from KC Law College, Mumbai in 2003 and obtained his Solicitor’s qualification from the Bombay Incorporated Law Society in 2006.
Jitu’s area of specialization covers all forms of indirect taxes including central excise, customs, sales tax/ VAT and service tax as also the foreign trade policy. Apart from advising clients on various aspects of indirect tax laws he also actively appears before various forums including Supreme Court of India, High Courts, Tax Tribunals and all quasi- judicial authorities across India.
Jitu has authored several articles in varied publications and is regularly called upon by professional bodies to speak at conferences and seminars.
Jitu has been ranked as a Highly Regarded Tax Practitioner in International Tax Review’s Tax Controversy Leaders Guide, 2020-24 and was recently nominated by RSG India as Emerging Leader of the Year 2019. Jitu has been recognized as Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation Asia Pacific. He has also been Recommended for Dispute Resolution in the Legal 500 rankings. Jitu also features in the Forbes’ list of India’s top 100 lawyers. He is also recognized as a Distinguished Practitioner for Dispute Resolution by Asia Law profiles.
Prior to ELP, Jitu earlier served with PDS Legal and DSK Legal.
