Jignesh Ghelani is a Partner in the tax practice of ELP focusing on Indirect taxes, International Trade and Customs regulations. His areas of expertise include GST, Customs, Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), Special Economic Zone (SEZ) laws and Export Control related matters.
Jignesh has over two decades of experience in handling matters in both advisory and litigation capacities. He has advised various Fortune 500 companies and Indian conglomerates across sectors including technology, manufacturing, oil and gas, petroleum, energy, construction, infrastructure and telecommunication.
Jignesh has assisted clients in transitioning to the GST regime and continues to assist in areas such as tax optimization, cross border structuring, tax litigation and diligence. His areas of expertise prior to the introduction of GST covered excise, customs, service tax, central sales tax, state levies as well as regulations under the FTP.
Jignesh has in-depth experience in advising various multinational companies on import and export control as well as licensing issues, specifically the dual use of goods and technologies regulations – Export Control Regulations (SCOMET), advice on various FTA’s/RTA’s, import / export transactions including valuation, classification, country of origin.
He is a regular speaker at various conferences and has authored associated papers and/or articles on issues of Indirect taxation.
Prior to joining ELP, Jignesh was part of the Tax team at EY & PwC.
