Hemal Shah is an Associate Partner in the Tax practice at ELP. He is a Chartered Accountant and has over 10 years of experience in the field of M&A tax and International tax advisory.
Hemal has advised on numerous M&A transactions, assisting clients with tax due diligence, transaction structuring, and both inbound and outbound investment strategies, while considering future cash repatriation needs.
His expertise in international tax issues includes evaluating Permanent Establishment risks and formulating mitigation strategies, global group restructuring across multiple jurisdictions, and assessing tax implications on cross-border transactions under Indian tax law and tax treaties.
In addition to his M&A and international tax expertise, Hemal is proficient in succession planning, tax compliance and tax litigation. Before joining ELP, Hemal was part of the M&A-tax and International-tax team at Ernst & Young LLP, Mumbai for 9 years.
