Ashish Mitra is a Chartered Accountant and law graduate with over 14 years of experience in indirect taxation, with a strong focus on GST, Customs, and Foreign Trade Policy. He has developed deep expertise in advising on complex regulatory frameworks, interpreting tax laws, and assisting businesses in structuring transactions in a tax-efficient and compliant manner. His practice spans both advisory and litigation, with significant experience in handling assessments, audits, and appellate proceedings.

He advises leading domestic and multinational clients across sectors and mentor teams on wide range of indirect tax and regulatory engagements. His core areas of work include GST advisory and litigation, customs valuation and classification, SCOMET licensing, BIS regulatory compliance, and Foreign Trade Policy matters. He regularly represents clients before tax and regulatory authorities, provides strategic inputs on high-stakes disputes, and assists senior managements at clients in designing practical and tax-efficient solutions aligned with evolving legal and commercial requirements.

Prior to his current roles, Ashish has worked across leading consulting and corporate environments, including KPMG, and Aircel Limited, where he gained extensive experience in Indirect tax advisory, compliance, and policy matters.
