Chirag Shetty serves as a Partner in ELP’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice.
Chirag is a litigator with myriad experience in successfully defending many assessees in their indirect tax matters pertaining to allegations of under-valuation of goods or services, mis-declaration of classification of goods or services, wrongful claim of beneficial notification, wrongfully availing input tax credit of goods or services and wrongfully availing refund of duty/rebates.
Chirag has also represented clients in matters of procedural lapses, smuggling of gold & clandestine removal of goods. Chirag has defended clients in many commercial & criminal matters, and assisted clients during investigation by various authorities.
He has successfully argued several writ petitions. Additionally, Chirag has also represented NHAI in several arbitration matters and has been successful in obtaining favorable awards.
Prior to ELP, Chirag served with M.V Kini & Co and H.R. Shetty & Co as an associate. He has also gained international experience by working as a paralegal in personal injury claim department in a boutique law firm in the UK.
Chirag holds an LL.B, University of Mumbai and an LL.M in International Business and Commercial Law, University of Manchester.
