Jishnu Dhar is an Associate Partner in the Corporate and Commercial Practice at ELP. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions, corporate restructurings, and general corporate advisory matters.
Jishnu regularly advises several domestic and international clients on complex corporate and commercial transactions. He has represented leading private equity funds on multi-million-dollar investments across diverse sectors and has advised companies, founders and investors on primary and secondary investments, fundraising transactions and strategic exits. Jishnu’s experience also includes advising on corporate restructurings, mergers, demergers and group reorganisation exercises, including transactions involving cross-border elements. He has represented companies in proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal, including in schemes of amalgamation and share capital reduction matters, and has advised clients on the establishment of joint ventures, franchise agreements, hotel management agreements, and a wide range of corporate governance, regulatory and compliance issues.
Jishnu has extensive experience in structuring, negotiating and drafting transaction documents, including share purchase agreements, share subscription and shareholders’ agreements, business transfer agreements, joint venture agreements and other commercial contracts. He works closely with clients throughout the transaction lifecycle, providing strategic, commercially focused advice to facilitate efficient execution and successful outcomes.
Jishnu has been recognized as a Rising Star for Private Equity and M&A in the IFLR1000 Asia-Pacific rankings for 2024 and 2025 and as a Recommended Lawyer for Corporate and M&A in the Legal 500 Asia-Pacific 2026.
Jishnu graduated with a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) from Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University and holds an LL.M. with a specialization in Business Law from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
