The 47th meeting of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council, chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was held in Chandigarh on June 28-29, 2022 which also coincided with the 5th anniversary of the GST genesis. Over the course of 2 days, the Council discussed several key issues like exemptions, correction of inverted duty, revising rates of various items, etc.
The update gives an analysis of the various measures proposed by the Council to ease compliances and to facilitate trade via notifications and circulars. To this effect, the update provides notification clarifications pursuant to the 47th GST Council meet.
