Ravisekhar Nair is a Partner at ELP and co-heads the Competition Law & Policy practice of the firm. Ravi has close to two decades of experience and is currently involved in some of the most contentious cases pending before the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
Ravi represents clients across industry sectors in investigations and inquiries before the CCI and the Office of the Director General, CCI. He also represents clients before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. Ravi has extensive experience in rendering general competition law advisory, merger control advisory and competition compliance services for clients.
He was part of the “Law Firm Working Group” formed by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to give a final shape to the merger regulations governing combinations in India and has closely worked with the CCI to get various processes and procedures in place. Ravi also assisted the CCI on framing of its draft Regulations in 2008 and 2009 as well as the 2007 amendments to the Competition Act. Ravi has worked closely with various Government Departments and clients and has rendered advisory assistance on substantive issues of competition law.
Ravi has various publications on competition law to his credit and regularly speaks at various forums on competition law. Ravi is ranked by Chambers Asia-Pacific, is recognized as a Leading Individual for Antitrust and Competition by Legal500 – Asia-Pacific and by Who’s Who Legal – as Future Leader for Competition. Ravi also features in the Forbes’ list of India’s top 100 lawyers.
