Naghm Ghei is an Associate Partner in the International Trade & Customs practice of ELP.
Her work focuses on the intersection of trade and public policy, where she advises clients on trade remedial investigations, WTO disputes, non-tariff barriers, product compliance and broader trade policy issues. She also works extensively on emerging areas of regulation, including the relationship between trade and environmental policy, ESG considerations, and data protection frameworks. Her expertise lies in bridging the gap between trade law and public policy, particularly in areas critical to modern regulatory frameworks.
Naghm regularly advises on legal and regulatory issues arising in the context of India’s free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations, particularly on matters relating to market access, sustainability, technical barriers to trade, and digital regulation. She has supported foreign governments and industry stakeholders in shaping positions on Indian regulatory developments that impact trade outcomes.
She is also actively engaged in WTO dispute-related work having represented the Government of India and also previously worked at the WTO in Geneva, where she was involved in supporting the dispute settlement function
She also serves as a key point of contact within the firm on issues relating to non-tariff barriers and standards, regularly advising clients on regulatory developments, conformity assessment procedures, and product compliance strategies. Her practice spans various industry sectors including metals, automobile, pharmaceuticals, FMCG and petrochemicals.
Naghm has also been recognized as a Rising Star for International Trade for the years 2023 and 2024 for her expertise in the Legal500 Asia- Pacific.
