We are pleased to share the August 2026 edition of our International Trade Newsletter, presenting a concise overview of key legal, regulatory, and policy developments shaping the global trade landscape during the month.

This edition tracks important trade remedial developments, including the DGTR’s final finding on titanium dioxide imports from China PR, alongside continuing anti-dumping actions against Indian exports in the United States across products such as brass rod, glycine, raw honey, quartz surface products, and citric acid and certain citrate salts.

The newsletter further examines key regulatory developments in India, including notifications issued by the Ministry of Finance continuing anti-dumping duties on phthalic anhydride and natural mica-based pearl industrial pigments, alongside trade policy updates from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.

The edition also highlights major global trade policy developments, including new US Section 232 measures on polysilicon and its derivatives, restrictions on transactions involving foreign-produced bulk-power equipment, the FCC’s revised Covered List treatment of power inverters and robotic devices, and BIS export restrictions on battery black mass and tungsten scrap. On the EU side, it covers new steel “melt and pour” evidence requirements and the entry into application of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, together with the UK’s amendments to its Autonomous Tariff Suspensions.

In addition, the newsletter provides updates on WTO disputes and committee developments, India’s draft SHANTI Rules and Regulations for nuclear energy export controls, the Ministry of Defence’s revised export SOP and consolidated OGEL framework, and significant sanctions measures across major jurisdictions — including OFAC actions on Venezuela-related designations, and UK and EU measures under the Russia and Belarus sanctions regimes.

We hope this edition offers timely insights for navigating the evolving international trade and compliance landscape.
