WTO, FTAs

• India-UK FTA is likely to be closed by March 2023.
• India and GCC to launch free trade pact negotiations on November 24, 2022.

TRADE POLICY

India

• The standard for Methylene Chloride (Dichloromethane) – Technical, IS 4566 : 2020 amended by the Bureau of Indian Standards.
• Standards IS 5496 : 1993, IS 12345 : 1988, IS 12837 : 1989, IS 15285 : 2016/ISO 5496 : 2006, IS 15316 : 2016/ISO 8589 : 2007 amended by the Bureau of Indian Standards.
• The Central Government amends the Methylene Chloride (Dichloromethane) (Quality Control) Order, 2021 published by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals.
• India scraps export tax on low grade iron ore, some steel intermediates.
• Average export obligations reduced for various products under the EPCG Scheme.

USA

• The International Trade Administration has invited comments on issuing a new regulation concerning ‘Particular Market Situation’ in anti-dumping investigations.
• In its semi-annual foreign exchange rate report, the Treasury Department removed India, Italy, Mexico, Thailand and Vietnam from the monitoring list of ‘currency manipulators.’
• The U.S. Department of Commerce revokes Russia’s ‘Market Economy Status’ in anti-dumping proceedings

Europe

• The Commission has adopted a revised EU Action Plan to put an end to illegal wildlife trade, as announced in the Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.
