TRADE POLICY

India

• The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade notifies the entry into force of the Quality Control Order for Air Conditioner and its related parts, Hermetic Compressors and Temperature Sensing Controls as October 1, 2023.
• The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade notifies the entry into force of the Quality Control Order for Refrigerating Appliances as January 1, 2024.
• Mandatory certification of certain chemical products extended to June 22, 2023.
• Customs Tariff (Determination of Origin of Goods under the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement) Rules, 2022 notified by the Ministry of Finance

European Union

• The European Union published the Foreign Subsidies Regulation on December 23, 2022, which aims to address distortions caused in the EU market due to foreign subsidies granted by non-EU countries to entities engaging in economic activities in the EU.

SANCTIONS

• The U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security has lifted the suspension of license exceptions for exports, reexports, and transfers (in-country) involving 27 entities in Russia, China, and Pakistan.
• The United States imposes sanctions on Russia naval entities.
