We are pleased to share the February 2026 edition of our 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐚π₯ π“π«πšππž 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬π₯𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫, presenting a comprehensive overview of key legal, regulatory, and policy developments shaping the global trade landscape during the month.

This edition tracks key trade remedial developments in India and abroad. It also covers changes to the BIS conformity assessment framework and amendments to the Quality Control Orders regime.

The newsletter further examines major global trade policy developments, including the EU’s proposed changes to customs duty treatment for low-value consignments and significant U.S. tariff developments following the Supreme Court’s ruling limiting the use of emergency economic powers to impose tariffs. It also discusses the introduction of a temporary import surcharge under Section 122 and developments relating to reciprocal tariff measures.

In addition, the edition highlights developments in India’s bilateral trade engagements with the United States and the release of the draft text of the India–EU Free Trade Agreement. It also provides updates on ongoing WTO disputes and committee discussions, as well as developments in export controls, sanctions, and national security measures across key jurisdictions.

We hope this edition offers timely insights and practical perspectives for navigating the evolving international trade and compliance landscape.
