The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has proposed draft rules under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. These rules emphasize obtaining verifiable consent from parents or guardians for processing the data of children or persons with disabilities. Stakeholders have been invited to submit their feedback by February 2025. The objective of the rules is to enhance governance and accountability in handling sensitive data.
