The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has, through its circular dated April 1, 2026, introduced a seemingly minor amendment to the framework governing the appointment and change of key managerial personnel (KMP) by fund management entities (FMEs) in GIFT-IFSC. While the amendment is limited to the deletion of a single paragraph from an earlier circular issued in February 2025, it reintroduces a degree of regulatory ambiguity. This Update briefly examines the evolution of the KMP appointment framework and the practical impact of the recent amendment on FMEs operating in the IFSC.
