In view of the recent Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2022 (DPDP Bill), the fourth iteration of India’s draft data protection law, which was released on November 18, Economic Laws Practice (ELP)’s partner Vinay Butani has been quoted in an article by MediaNama, to share his views. Vinay discusses comparisons between the GDPR and the DPDP Bill. Vinay also cites examples of judgments that bring out the nuances in how entities are classified as state instrumentalities.
