Recently, the DGTR recommended a levy of safeguard measures in the form of quantitative restrictions on imports of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Suspension Resins with Residual Vinyl Chloride Monomer (RVCM) Content above 2 PPM. This is the second such recommendation made by the Indian DGTR. For these measures to come into effect, the DGFT, an organization set up under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, must issue a notification amending India’s Import Policy.
