In this article “Not The Final Stamp On Stamp Duty?” published by Taxsutra, Our Partner Supreme Kothari and Principal Associate Shashank Nair critically analyse the recent ruling of the Bombay High Court in the case of Saurer Textile Solutions Pvt. Ltd, which had affirmed the levy of stamp duty on the delivery orders, associated with goods imports, under the Bombay Stamp Act. They analyse the key findings of the Bombay High Court while outlining certain propositions and interpretations which would hold relevance in the next and final leg of litigation around this issue.
