Harika Bakaraju is an Associate Partner in the International Trade & Customs practice at ELP.
Harika advises clients on a wide range of trade issues, including matters arising under trade-remedial laws, India’s free trade agreements, customs-related concerns, and trade disputes before Indian courts and the World Trade Organization (WTO). She has successfully represented domestic producers, foreign producers/exporters, importers, and user industries in numerous trade-remedial investigations (anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, and safeguard cases) across sectors including steel and other metals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, uncoated paper, and petrochemicals.
She also regularly advises Indian clients on potential exposure to sanctions regimes maintained by the UN, US, EU, and UK, as well as on formalizing sanctions compliance programs. Her practice further includes advising on the applicability of export control laws to businesses and assisting in obtaining the necessary licenses for exporting controlled items. Her clients in this area span diverse sectors such as aerospace and defense, media and entertainment, information technology, and alcoholic beverages.
Harika holds an LL.M. from Cornell Law School and an LL.B. from Jindal Global Law School.
She has been recognized as a Rising Star for International Trade by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.
