Against this backdrop, Harsh Shah, Partner at Economic Laws Practice (ELP) has been quoted by Times Property in their article titled ‘Where Is Your Maintenance Fee Getting Used?’. Harsh says, “One wonders if GST is payable on the entire amount of maintenance charges or only on the value exceeding Rs 7,500. GST in such cases is payable on the whole charges and not on the differential value.”
