On September 2, 2024, the DGFT vide notification no. 25/2024 issued an updated and revised list of SCOMET items. The DGFT has revised the scope of SCOMET items falling under various categories. In addition, certain clarificatory amendments have also been made to the list of SCOMET items. Finally, the Department of Defense Production is empowered to grant export authorization to all the items falling under category 6 (Munitions list) for military end-use.
To provide transition time to the relevant businesses, the changes made to the list of SCOMET items under the aforementioned notification are effective from October 2, 2024.
