Asset monetization in the infrastructure space will be a highlight for the sector in the upcoming budget. With the National Monetization Pipeline (NMP) in place, experts feel that the government will provide the requisite impetus to tap into private sector investment.

Against this backdrop, Sujjain Talwar, Partner, Economic Laws Practice (ELP) has been quoted by Economic Times in their article titled ‘Infra asset monetization may be a key feature of Budget, say experts’. Sujjain is of the opinion that Highways and railways are likely to be the primary focus in terms of budgetary allocation this year. The focus will be on opening new avenues for infrastructure funding.
