With the upcoming Budget, Indians living abroad are looking for more clarity on the legal definition of non-resident Indians and relaxation on norms for the residential status for NRIs. Easing compliance burdens and harmonizing tax provisions are key expectations this year.
Against this backdrop, Nishant Shah, Partner, Economic Laws Practice (ELP) has been quoted by Times of India in their article titled ‘Budget 2022- How are NRIs taxed in India and why they want a reduction in TDS this year’.
