t’s been almost three years since the first aircraft leasing entity was registered at the International Financial Services Centre in GIFT City , Gujarat. Since then, almost 26 entities have registered themselves and financing activities have been undertaken at the centre. While concerns on the legal framework in India surrounding repossession of aircraft by lessors remains, industry stakeholders are optimistic about the fiscal benefits that IFSC GIFT City offers.
