The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has unveiled the draft Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, marking a major step in India’s data privacy journey. These rules seek to operationalize the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, by establishing comprehensive guidelines for data processing, consent management, breach notifications, and cross-border data transfers.
