Major Roles and Responsibilities

  • Good analytical skills with ability to research on Indirect Tax / GST databases.
  • Knowledge of case laws with relevant legal framework, good understanding of regulatory updates and a basic understanding of its impact on the assigned clients
  • Good command over English and have drafting skills (most critical)
  • Ability to create and disseminate updates on latest trends to the team
  • Ability to do quick research to develop theoretical understanding of the laws and acts

Required Skill Set

  • The incumbent will handle engagements related to Indirect Tax Laws: including Tax Restructuring, Tax Advisory and consulting, appeals pertaining to Service Tax, VAT, Excise, Foreign Trade Policy, Octroi (State specific) laws, Customs Law and GST Legislation.
  • Assignments will also include litigation related services: drafting replies, appeals, briefing counsels and senior counsels

Major role and responsibilities & Required Skill Set

  • Debt transactions: documentation and legal advice for all types of financing transactions, including corporate loans, project finance, asset finance, working capital finance, trade finance, external commercial borrowing transactions, whether in the form of loans, debentures or otherwise;
  • Structured debt transactions including cross border debt transactions (advising on Indian law portions), restructuring of debt, securitization transactions and transactions with asset reconstruction companies;
  • Banking regulatory advice (conversant with RBI regulations and regulations of other financial regulators) including advising financial institutions on their products, compliance, stamp duty issues and standard documentation;
  • IBC including assisting financial creditors, operational creditors, resolution professional, resolution applicant or corporate debtor along with experience in relation to NCLT
  • FEMA advisory.
