The Maharashtra FDA alleged that a McDonald’s outlet used cheese analogues in some products. They were marketed as containing real cheese. In October 2023, FDA had inspected an outlet in Ahmednagar after receiving consumer complaints regarding the ingredients used by the restaurant.
