India is marking its footprint in the global economy. There has been a focused initiative towards ensuring India’s recognition on the global stage as a quality-conscious country.

In this context, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), along with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) introduced quality control orders (QCOs) requiring BIS certification for over 370 across various sectors, including the toy sector.

Economic Laws Practice (ELP)’s Partner Nishant Shah and Prakhil Mishra, Senior Associate have co-authored an article titled ‘BIS Quality Control Standards & the Toys Sector’ highlighting pointers that toy companies should remember to ensure efficient processing of licenses as they go through the entire certification process.
