We all are the stakeholders in climate change and with that intent, arises the need to regulate the majority of sectors which consume the resources in the environment. India has a blueprint for “Panchamrit’, the word signifies the five elements of nature responsible for maintaining the ecosystem of the environment. India has expressed plans to implement its climate action, by presenting the Panchamrit strategy of five nectar elements in COP-26 in Glasgow 2021.

Aakanksha Joshi, Partner; Megha Agarwal, Associate Partner and Pranaav Gupta, Associate at Economic Laws Practice (ELP) have co-authored an article for Times of India, on “Creating an architecture for net zero emissions”. The article addresses the measures that are being taken by “Energy Conservation (Amendment) Bill, 2022 by LokSabha on ensuring faster decarbonisation of the Indian economy. It also addresses the carbon market regime in India and how the introduction of this Bill would ease the carbon credit trading mechanism.
