Our Partner, Vinod Joseph shares his insight in Bloomberg, “Higher Credit Growth Flags Year of Big Policy Action for Indian Bank.”
He highlights that until now, non-resident individuals who were neither NRIs nor OCIs could not directly invest in listed Indian companies and had to route investments through AIFs or obtain an FPI licence. While the fine print is awaited, he added that this move could significantly open Indian capital markets to wealthy individuals globally, not just the Indian diaspora.
