The Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026, introduced in the Lok Sabha on 23 March 2026, proposes various amendments to the Companies Act, 2013 and the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008 (𝐋𝐋𝐏 𝐀𝐜𝐭). The Amendment Bill has now been referred to a Joint Parliamentary Committee for detailed analysis. Some of the Amendments to the LLP Act appear to be designed to make it easier to set up an AIF (regulated by either SEBI or IFSCA) in the form of an LLP.

In this Update, we have reviewed and analyzed the key changes proposed to the LLP Act in the context of AIFs.
