Indirect Tax Advisory and Litigation – Associate | Mumbai

Major Role & Responsibilities:

• Thorough approach involving in-depth understanding of client needs and legal intricacies in handling assignments.
• Possesses strong analytical and research aptitude with the ability to understand and apply statutory provisions, notifications and judicial precedents. (most critical)
• Good command over English and sound drafting skills. (most critical)
• Knowledge of case laws and the relevant legal framework and remains abreast of regulatory updates.
• Proactive in monitoring developments and trends in indirect tax laws and sharing insights with the team.
• Ability to do quick research to develop a theoretical understanding of the laws and acts.
• Capable of preparing research notes, client communications and legal updates under guidance.
• Demonstrates professionalism, accountability and effective time management in executing assignments

Required Skill Set:

• The incumbent will handle engagements related to Indirect Tax Laws: including Tax Advisory and consulting, Tax restructuring and Tax litigation pertaining to GST Law, Customs Law, Foreign Trade Policy, Service Tax, VAT, Excise and other related laws.
• Assignments will also include litigation-related services: drafting of opinions, drafting replies to show cause notices, appeals, writ petitions, special leave petitions, briefing counsels and senior counsels

LLB/CA

Experience:

1-2 years
