Abhiraj Arora is an Associate Partner in ELP’s Capital Markets & Securities and Corporate & Commercial teams.
Prior to joining ELP, Abhiraj served with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Indian Regulator for securities market for more than 7 years. During these years at SEBI, he had worked closely with Exchanges and was part of their Surveillance and Enforcement Department. As part of the surveillance team he assisted in investigation of cases through Integrated Surveillance System (IMSS) and Data Warehousing Business Intelligence System (DWBIS) pertaining to Insider Trading, Take Over Code, Fraud and unfair trade practices matter etc. Abhiraj had also worked extensively on the IPO Scam involving 21 IPO’s.
As part of the Enforcement Team, Abhiraj has worked extensively on the various proceedings initiated under SEBI Act e.g. debarment, penalty, criminal proceedings, enquiry proceedings and settlement proceedings. He had assisted in drafting of various order issued by SEBI. He was part of the team of officers dealing with appeals filed against SEBI before the Securities Appellate Tribunal and has assisted various Advocates/Senior Advocates during the arguments/hearings.
