Akshay Kishore is a Litigation, Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Partner at ELP. He is an arbitration specialist with experience in handling high stakes domestic and international arbitrations. He is based in Mumbai and is qualified to practice law in both India as well as in England & Wales.

Akshay obtained his B.L.S. /LL.B. degree from the Government Law College, Mumbai and an LL.M. degree in International Taxation from the New York University.

With an experience spanning more than 10 years, Akshay advises clients in both international and domestic (Indian) commercial disputes. His areas of expertise include the oil & gas, infrastructure, construction and finance sectors. Akshay has been involved in advising clients on various high value arbitrations in the U.K., Europe, South East Asia, Japan, Australia and India.

Akshay is also adept at advising clients on arbitrations under different institutional rules, including International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), LCIA, Supreme Court Cases (SCC) and United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and often does advocacy at the arbitration hearings.

Akshay has also advised clients in disputes involving the Mono-rail Project in Mumbai, Airport upgradation of the Brunei International Airport, setting up of one of India's largest Petrochemical Projects in Gujarat, the sale of LNG from the largest operations in Western Australia to the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) and construction of an integrated luxury seaside resort in Sri Lanka.

Some of his key matter experience includes advising intrepid mines in a dispute relating to its mining operations in Indonesia. This is the highest value claim brought before the SIAC

Prior to joining ELP he worked with international firms like Freshfields Bruckhaus & Deringer and Ashurst LLP, for over seven years.

Akshay is also recognised as an arbitration expert in legal directories, such as Legal 500.
